My research interests concern:

• The role of visceral signals in interpersonal motor and verbal interactions;
• The contribution of brain–body mechanisms to social interaction and the regulation of social contact.

These topics are investigated using:

• Non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS, tDCS);
• Electroencephalography (EEG);
• Electrocardiography (ECG) and electrogastrography (EGG);.
• Respiratory measures, including respiratory rate and end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO₂);
• Neuroendocrine and inflammatory markers;
• Ingestible capsules for monitoring gastrointestinal physiology;
• Movement kinematics and behavioural measures.
