My current research involves combining non-invasive brain stimulation with neurophysiological recordings (EEG, EMG) and immersive virtual reality (IVR) to investigate performance monitoring and body representation. This includes studying cognitive conflict through phase-shifted transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), embodiment-error monitoring interactions using TMS-EEG-IVR, and the influence of ownership and agency on (im)moral behavior in healthy individuals using EEG-IVR. Additionally, I am investigating alterations in agency and ownership in individuals with Functional Movement Disorder (FMD) using IVR-EMG. I am also actively involved in projects examining the neuromodulatory effects of low-intensity transcranial focused ultrasound stimulation (tFUS) on corticospinal excitability and cognitive processes such as performance monitoring.
