My prior research experience, conducted as part of my master’s thesis, has focused on the modulation of cardiac physiological activity through heart rate variability biofeedback interventions, in relation to intrusive thinking induction paradigms and executive functions. During my supervised internship required for licensure as a psychologist, I focused on the cardiac physiological correlates of interoceptive flexibility in healthy and patients with Anorexia Nervosa. My current research involves investigating the causal role of specific brain regions adopting brain stimulation techniques (NIBS) in the regulation of interoceptive physiological processes and social interaction using transcranial magnetic stimulation, combined with the integration of behavioral and multimodal physiological indices of brain, cardiac, and gastric activity.
