My previous research experience has focused on investigating the role of personality traits in shaping sexual objectification behaviours in women, through the use of Electroencephalography (EEG). Moreover, during my Master’s thesis at the University of Padova I conducted a project examining the contribution of the somatosensory cortex in supporting the processing of disgusted facial expressions. Currently, I am involved in a research project aimed at understanding the neurophysiological correlates of interoception and joint actions, while modulating brain activity via Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and by integrating multiple neurophysiological techniques, including Electroencephalography (EEG), Electrocardiography (ECG) and Electrogastrography (EGG) techniques. Overall, my research interests lie within social and affective neuroscience, with a particular focus on the neural mechanisms underlying interpersonal interactions, social touch and the perception of facial expressions across the lifespan, especially during developmental stages.
