My previous research experience focused on the neural correlates of empathy. In particular, the first project aimed at investigating, via EEG technique, the link between dehumanization and empathy, while the second project concerned the effects of physical barriers in modulating the neural empathic response to others’ pain. I recently took part in another project concerning the contribution of facial mimicry and sensorimotor simulation processes to build facial expressions’ representations in visual working memory.
Currently, I am interested in exploring the neurophysiological correlates of attitudes toward the “Civic Heroes” through EEG and immersive virtual reality.
