I have a master degree in theoretical physics from the University of Pisa. My physics studies were mainly in the field of high energy physics, quantum gravity and statistical physics. After this first step of my education, I obtained a MSc in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Sussex with a thesis on a fMRI study on vicarious reward. As a reflection of my double nature, I'm particularly interested in bringing closer the biological/physical dimension of human life (physiology of the brain-body) with its most subjective, cultural and symbolic domains (emotions, art, spirituality, morality, intersubjectivity etc.) and using this knowledge to inform our daily lives and their problems (psychopathology). At the moment I'm studying moral emotions like moral disgust combining non invasive stimulation techniques and electrophysiological recordings. On the mathematical side I'm searching for innovative analysis techniques for electrogastrography (EGG).
